BlackOri is family business, which began trading in Vanilla beans as an exporter out of PNG to Japan, Israel and New Zealand.
Robert was born in Papua New Guinea and is from the Malaripi Tribe in Miaru - Gulf Province. 

He met his Australian wife Sharne in PNG, fell in love and got married. 

Between them, they have six beautiful children, and the rest is history...
Robert started trading in commodities after working with Paradise Foods Limited as the Business Development Manager. His focus there was mainly developing sustainable supply chains by working with the farmers and local communities in PNG to provide a consistent level of quality and quantity of a variety of spices, coffee and cocoa. His time there opened his eyes to the enormous and somewhat untapped potential of PNG grown produce.  He managed to develop a comprehensive network in the agricultural industry from the governmental sector right down to the grass root farmers of PNG. 
Since then he and his wife moved back to Australia and started BlackOri Pty Ltd. with a view to continue to support local PNG farmers and to promote the export of PNG's exquisite array of natural spices, cocoa and coffee.  

All spices in PNG are grown free from pesticides and harmful chemicals, this is of course of great benefit to the health of end consumers, but in actual fact, it is a positive coincidence because generally speaking, backyard farmers in the remote parts of PNG simply cannot afford pesticides, fertilisers and chemicals. It is BlackOri's mission to educate farmers, that despite their growth in wealth, their produce is more prized and more pure as it is - completely natural...
